The Mission statement

“Training and education of young people is the most valuable investment in the future.”

(Franz-W. Aumund)

The mission statement of the Aumund Foundation is shaped by the character of its Founder Franz-Walter Aumund. By the time the Foundation was established, Franz-Walter Aumund was the third-generation owner of his family business, enjoying resounding success for more than three decades.

Under his tenure the Group of companies had developed into a global business and market leader in its segment of conveying technology. Each of the three generations had its own focus on business development and philanthropic commitment, characterised by the social and economic conditions of the times. All generations of the AUMUND business were however united in not only promoting material but also young talent.

Franz-Walter Aumund was conscious of his privileged upbringing and the opportunities in society and career which were facilitated by his background. But he was also convinced that it is not only external circumstances which influence the life journey of a person, but that it is every individual’s duty to use their talents and intellect and to take responsibility for shaping their life.

With the establishment of the Aumund Foundation its Founder wished to support willing and motivated young people who grow up in less privileged circumstances and therefore do not have as much opportunity to develop their gifts and talents. The global mindset of Franz-Walter Aumund and his respect for foreign countries and cultures is reflected in the fact that the Aumund Foundation predominantly fulfils its objectives overseas.

On the basis of these principles; equal opportunities, a sense of responsibility and an international mindset, the Aumund Foundation focusses on the following objectives:

1. Support of science and research
2. Support of education and training
3. Support of public health
