The Au­mund Foun­da­tion was es­tab­lished by Franz-Wal­ter Au­mund in 2019, and it was ac­cred­it­ed as an in­de­pen­dent char­i­ta­ble foun­da­tion by the re­gion­al gov­ern­ment in Düs­sel­dorf on 29 May of that year. Since then it has been sup­port­ing pro­jects in the ar­eas of sci­ence and re­search, ed­u­ca­tion and train­ing, and health, in ac­cor­dance with its de­tailed foun­da­tion char­ter. Pro­jects are pre­dom­i­nant­ly im­ple­ment­ed over­seas.

The Au­mund Foun­da­tion acts as a fund­ing foun­da­tion and ful­fils its foun­da­tion ob­jec­tives by work­ing close­ly with se­lect­ed fund­ing part­ners. Pro­jects are de­vel­oped to­geth­er with its part­ners and meet ac­tu­al needs on the ground. The Foun­da­tion main­tains a close di­a­logue with its part­ners through­out the du­ra­tion of the pro­jects.
