“Well trained young people are the motor of soci­ety” was one of Franz-Wal­ter Aumund’s firm beliefs, which is why fund­ing of train­ing and edu­cation has been one of the focal points of his phil­anthropic com­mit­ment from the begin­ning. This is under­pinned in par­tic­ular by the award­ing of schol­arships.

The selec­tion of the young recip­ients is not only based on good res­ults, but fin­ancial need and social com­mit­ment are also import­ant cri­teria. In Ger­many the Aumund Found­ation mainly sup­ports the next gen­era­tion of young engin­eers at its part­ner uni­ver­sit­ies. Over­seas it places its focus on one of the favour­ite pro­jects of the Founder, the award­ing of schol­arships to schools belong­ing to the inter­national Round Square Net­work. The hol­istic mind­set which mani­fests itself in the six IDEALS of the schools reflects what the Founder con­sidered cru­cial for respons­ible future pro­fes­sion­als and man­agers:
