We are sup­port­ing our new pro­ject part­ner, Archemed, with its mis­sions in chil­dren’s sur­gery in Erit­rea. Around 300 volun­teers from Ger­many and neigh­bour­ing coun­tries are com­mit­ted to the med­ical care of chil­dren and the sus­tain­able devel­opment of med­ical infra­struc­ture. The pro­ject teams not only con­sist of highly qual­ified med­ical prac­tition­ers, but depend­ing on the char­acter of the pro­ject, archi­tects, engin­eers and trades­people also donate their time to the good cause.

In recent years Archemed has cre­ated and main­tained valu­able clinic infra­struc­ture, includ­ing a sur­gical centre for chil­dren, Erit­rea’s first new-born intens­ive care unit, and a burns clinic, all of which bear wit­ness to the valu­able work of the organ­isa­tion.

We are look­ing for­ward to fur­ther pro­ject ideas which we can imple­ment together to con­tinue the expan­sion of med­ical care for chil­dren in need.
